Parent Course 2: Floortime® for Parents Intensive Support

Course Description: This course is designed to enable parents and caregivers to hone their Floortime skills and to better understand and meet their child’s current needs. This course is for parents who have taken Course 1 (Introduction to Floortime) and wish to dive more deeply into the Floortime approach.

The curriculum will be developed in response to the current needs of the individuals in the group and discussion will be shaped around participants’ experiences with their child. Sharing of videotape with the group is recommended but optional.  The atmosphere is esigned to be non-critical and supportive. 

Topics might include using the DIR model to:

• teach academics.

• understand behavior and regulation.

• cooking to improve communication and motor planning.
